Welcome to the Top 40 Whiskies and Brands of 2021 as rated by you!
We’ve expanded our annual top whiskies as rated by TWL Whisky Lovers to showcase the top 40 whiskies, and introducing the top 40 brands too!
Before we dive into the lists, we wanted to share where this data comes from.
- 8,600 whiskies were tracked across 70 online retailers (independents and chains)
- 228,000 people visited TWL and searched for, clicked-on and rated these whiskies
- Resulting in 15.4 million whisky views
- This averaged to 67.5 whiskies viewed per visitor over the course of the year
- Equalling to a whisky searched for every 2 seconds in 2021
What a stellar achievement of our wonderful community of whisky lovers!
In addition to whiskies viewed on our site, we monitor other online retailers, and people’s engagement from The Whisky Show (who we partner with the show app) is also included. In 2021, The Whisky Show held 2x shows in Sydney and 1x in Melbourne, where over 900 people got to sample over 180 different whiskies across the shows.
We take all this data (the searches, clicks, ratings, reviews, purchase history, etc) and calculate a weighted score for each brand and whisky, resulting in the Top 40 lists below. If you’re curious about how we tally these scores, click here.
