We're proud to be one of the first small bars in Chinatown, with a focus on quality cocktails, world whiskies and delicious bar snacks. And we're excited to bring a quality drinking experience to Chinatown.
Banchō opened in late 2018 and is located in a laneway an original 1910s Haymarket building adjoining The Ultimo boutique hotel. Our house cocktails showcase local market produce and the bounty of Asian ingredients around us, while our back bar features a large selection of Japanese and Scotch whisky, including rare and independent bottlings.
We also run a bottle keep program where customers can purchase a bottle of whisky from us to keep in one of 38 bottle lockers, to drink during subsequent visits.
The team behind Banchō first opened Surry HIlls small bar Tokyo Bird in 2014 followed by modern Japanese eatery Osaka Trading Co. at Tramsheds in 2016.
